Hverfjall volcano site has a mesmerizing landscape. As a design premise, the coffee shop has floor-to-ceiling glazing across almost all of the perimeter to allow users to spectate the outstanding views.
The intention of the building's geometry is to resemble the nature of the building on the site as if it was always a part of it. The process consisted of abstracting different geometrical elements and aspects of lava for the envelope and interior design process.
